Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean, timeless, natural, and joyful. I love bright, clean colors, and open landscapes play well with my style of soft and airy photos.
Q: Do you travel?
A: Heck yes!! Head on over and fill out that inquiry form and let's chat!
Q: Why do you love photographing mountain adventure sessions so much?
A: I love photographing mountain adventure sessions (and weddings), because I understand the feelings of utter freedom you get when you're deep in the forest or on top of a mountain with the people you love the most. When my clients leave their mountain or forest adventure session, or intimate wedding, I want them to know that freedom, and the joy that comes from it, has been captured in photo form for them to treasure forever and pass down to future generations.
Q: We're terrible in front of the camera! Will you help us?
A: Of course! My style is to give enough posing help to make you look + feel your best, but not so much that you look or feel like a statue. And I have alllll kinds of tips and tricks and poses up my sleeve to help you ROCK your session!
Q: How do I make things official?
A: I'm so glad you are asking this question!! Once the contract is signed and the retainer is paid, you have officially booked me! And if you've booked me for your wedding, keep your eyes out for a little something to hit your mail box soon!
Q: How much is the retainer?
A: 25% of the full amount.
Q: When is the balance due?
A: For weddings, 3 weeks prior to the wedding date. For other sessions, prior to the delivery of the photos.
Q: Do I print my contract out to sign it?
A: Nope! Everything is done online, which makes it quick and easy. I'm always available, should you have questions about something specific.
Q: How do I pay my invoice?
A: Head on over to your client portal, and you'll see your invoice under "open invoices". Click on it, and follow the prompts to complete payment.
Q: I thought that only 25% was due, but my invoice is showing the full amount? Why?
A: Your invoice will show the full amount, but you have the ability to choose how much to pay. Follow the prompts for paying the invoice, and just enter 25% of your full amount.
Q: I don't have PayPal. How do I pay my invoice?
A: When you go to pay your invoice, you'll have to click "pay with PayPal" but will then have the opportunity to click "pay with Debit or Credit Card”.
Q: Any suggestion for what I should wear during our session?
A: The short answer: yes!! The long answer: Once you book me, I will send you a style guide that will go into a lot of detail on this, plus has some beautiful images from past sessions to give you inspiration!
Q: Do you have any recommendations for locations?
A: Oh my goodness, do I ever!! My style guide includes tips for how to choose the perfect location, plus I list some of my all time favorite locations, and of course I'm always down for exploring new places!
Q: How long until I see my photos?
A: For weddings, 3 months per the contract, but I LOVE delivering the images to my clients much sooner! (As in, before your 1 month anniversary.) For most other sessions, 1 month, or sooner!
Q: How do I get my photos from you?
A: For both weddings and other sessions, I deliver the photos via an online gallery, and will email you the link the second it's ready! For weddings, I also deliver a personalized USB drive.
Q: How do I download my photos?
A: Once your photos are all done, I will send you an email with a link to your personal online gallery. Follow that link, click on the little down arrow, and you will be prompted to enter your name and email address. Then you’ll be in your gallery and able to view all the photos! To download, click on the little cloud with the down arrow in the upper right corner and follow the prompts. Once your photos are ready, you’ll receive another email. Just follow the prompts from that email, and voila! You’ve got your photos! (If you’re not sure where they went, head over to your “downloads’ folder.)
Q: Can I access my photos from my phone?
A: Yes! It’s super easy to view and download photos onto your phone, which makes it easy to share on social media! Follow that link in the email I sent you, and enter your name and email address to view the gallery. Find the photo you’d like to download, click on it, and then click that little cloud with the down arrow at the bottom of your screen and follow the prompts.
Q: How long will my gallery be online?
A: Your gallery will be archived after 60 days. I highly recommend downloading them right away and saving them in multiple places for safe keeping!
Q: Do you watermark your photos?
A: Nope. You have the freedom to share your images in any way that you choose. These are your images, and I want you to love them so much that you can’t help but share them! I don’t believe that it is necessary to watermark my images. All I ask for is some type of credit whenever you use an image on social media! I only have ONE rule when it comes to what you can and cannot do with my work. I always encourage my clients not to re-edit their images. Let me do that hard work!
Q: How many images can I expect to see from my wedding?
A: The industry standard is 100 images per hour of photographing, but I also tend to overshoot.
Q: Do you have a second photographer?
A: For weddings, yes!
Q: What is your backup plan in case you cannot be at my wedding?
A: In the event that I am not able to photograph your wedding (which is NEVER expected to happen), my second photographer would take over, and/or I would find another photographer to take my place. I would still edit all of the photos, so you'd still receive photos in the style you would have expected from me.
Q: Do you book more than one wedding a day?
A: Nope! When you book me for your wedding, you are my sole focus on that day.
Q: Do you work from a shot list on wedding days?
A: Nope! (But with one exception.) I've photographed enough weddings that I know the shots that need to be taken, and have a good process that I roll through to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. I do have a checklist for family formals that I send the couple prior to the wedding, and I work off of that during the family photo portion of the day.
Q: Can I request certain images or poses be taken at the wedding?
A: Sure! I hope that you're able to sit back and relax and trust me to capture all the important moments, and to pose you in timeless and beautiful ways. But if there is a certain photo that you would just love to have (like Aunt Judy's reaction as you walk down the aisle) then definitely let me know!
Q: How are you different from other photographers?
A: This is the million dollar question! To be perfectly honest, my photos aren’t that different from other light + airy photographers you’ll find. BUT when you hire me, you’re not just getting photos. You’re getting the human behind the camera as well. That’s why I always want to meet couples before they hire me for their wedding, because I want to make sure that our personalities are a good fit for each other. You’re going to be spending a lot of time with me on your wedding day, and if you can’t stand me, it’s gonna be a little awkward!! You can read more about me over on my “meet me” page, (and you can get lots more insight into who I am by following me on Instagram and watching my stories) but the long and short of it is that I’m an old-fashioned farm girl who loves Jesus and adores mountains like none other. I don’t have a problem taking control of situations (which comes in SUPER handy during family formals on wedding days) and I’m organized and very quick in both response time and gallery delivery time. Let me buy you a cup of coffee and let’s see if we’re a good fit for your wedding day!
