Heather // Styled Bridal Portraits at Rowena Crest

This styled bridal session on the Columbia Gorge at Rowena Crest was all kinds of incredible. My photographer friend, Heather, found the dress at Goodwill for $30, and when she texted me a photo of her trying the dress on and asked if we should get it and take some photos, I immediately said yes!

Fast forward a few (busy) months and I had kind of forgotten about the dress. I texted Heather and asked if she would be up for going location scouting with me for my *own* engagement session, and she asked if she should bring “the Goodwill dress” so we could finally get some photos. I think I texted back something like, “dude, yes!!” and we were on.

When we got to Rowena Crest, the wind just about ripped the door out of my hand. Couple that with the brilliant mid-day sunshine, and this session turned into a super fun way to stretch me out of some of my photographer comfort zones. Plus, it helped prove that full-sun photos can be really stunning, and that Goodwill dresses are awesome.

Oh, and can we just stop for a minute here and talk about how gorgeous my friend is?? Seriously Vogue model status…just in the rolling hills of the Columbia Gorge.
