DJ & Desiree // Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

This sunrise session at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival was unreal, and totally worth the before-4-am-alarm! I rarely have as many landscape shots as I did with this session, but I mean come on! With those beautiful tulips, how could you not want to show them off as much as possible?

My fiance and I had gone with some friends to the tulip festival a few weeks back, and pretty much as soon as we got there, I knew I had to do a model call and get a couple out there for a sunrise session. DJ & Desiree were quick to volunteer, which made it even more fun since I’ve photographed them a few times previously so we already knew each other! They’re such a fun couple to hang out with, and have two of the cutest little kiddos (who I got to see a few days later for a mini session) together.

The morning of this sunrise session was perfectly cool + crisp, but with that beautiful golden pink light that you only get to see if you’re up before the birds. And to top it all off, we lucked out with a hot air balloon lifting off just across the field from us! Now if that isn’t picture perfect, I don’t know what is.
