Matthew & Kailee // Columbia River Gorge Engagement Session
Holy guacamole, Matthew & Kailee’s Columbia River Gorge engagement session was definitely one for the books!! We started their session at Latourell Falls, and then headed over to Rowena Crest to finish up with some gorgeous sunset shots. I had never been to Latourell Falls, but I’m a huge fan of it now! It was an easy hike down to the lower section, and we were able to get up close and personal with the rocks and stream. Both Matthew & Kailee are super adventurous, which always makes my job so easy and fun!
I have to take a moment and talk about Kailee’s second dress. I actually purchased this same dress a few months ago, with the plan to wear it to my own anniversary photo session this summer. I was so excited about it that I just had to share it to my Instagram stories. Well, Kailee saw it there and fell in love with it too! (For VERY good reason! It’s a stunning dress!) So I feel like I get to take a little bit of the credit for how freaking gorgeous she looks! (If anyone else wants to twin with us, you can purchase the dress by following this link.)
But back to the engagement session! The day after their session, Kailee sent me the message below. My heart leapt with joy when I read it!
“Thank you again for yesterday! I felt so confident and beautiful in front of the camera! I haven’t felt that way in a long time and can’t wait for our wedding now!”
Helping my couples to relax and feel confident & beautiful in front of the camera is my NUMBER ONE priority. One way of doing that is through engagement sessions. My couples learn how I pose & direct, and it helps them feel fully confident as we approach their wedding. For Matthew & Kailee, having multiple locations for their Columbia River Gorge engagement session was super important to their story. Sometimes, after putting a blog post like this together, I sit and scroll through it like a new viewer might. Doing that with this blog post tells me a story of a couple who are utterly in love with each other and the beautiful state that we live in.
