Mr & Mrs McSmithey // Backyard Wedding in Port Orchard, WA

Last Saturday, Justin & Elise tied the knot last weekend in a beautiful backyard wedding at their home in Port Orchard, WA. Everything about the day was perfectly and uniquely them, and it was a JOY to photograph! Some of my favorite unique touches were the bonsai tree centerpieces, the vintage shoes the bride wore, and the crazy socks worn by the Groom and Groomsmen. More incredible touches included the Bride’s ring, which is absolutely exquisite, and was actually designed by the Matron of Honor! The Groom loves to brew beer, and brewed all the beer that was served at the reception. Justin & Elise decided to combine their last names, and had their new last name printed on custom pint glasses that each of the guests took home at the end of the night. There was so much thought and care put into the whole day, and everything turned out beautifully!

Justin & Elise may go down in history as the goofiest couple I’ve ever photographed, and I LOVED it. Photographing them was truly a breeze, because they interacted so effortlessly and happily with each other. They could easily slip between an intimate moment and cracking each other up with funny faces or poses. Their personalities shined brightly throughout the day, and are more than evident in these photos!

Before she even saw more than the few sneak peeks I emailed to her, Elise shared the following review on Google. It just about made me cry, and I can’t help but share it with you all here:

“Rebekah was so wonderful!! I knew as soon as I hired Rebekah that I didn’t need to stress over the photography any more. She is such a calm and joyful presence and I saw that affect everyone in front of her camera that day. Finding a photographer proved to be one of the things that I agonized over the most. Everyone I found either seemed to be good at candid shots or formal family photos and I wanted both!

From the first conversation I could tell that Rebekah was as invested in our day as I was, and in capturing photos that would tell our story and also be lasting memories for us and our family.

Her communication could not be beat! She was always responsive and helpful and so patient with my busy wedding brain! I loved how much she enjoyed the interaction between my husband and I, and she was so flexible even when I changed the schedule on the fly. It was like I had a trusted friend (who also happens to be awesome at photography) there instead if someone I had hired. I love Love LOVE, the sneak peek photos, and I can’t wait to see the rest, I know they’re going to be amazing records of a wonderful day.”

Wow, Elise! Thank you SO MUCH for these sweet, sweet words. Photographing your & Justin’s backyard wedding day was an honor and a privilege, and I am so grateful that you choose me. I wish you and Justin nothing but happiness in your new life together!!
