Mr & Mrs Clark // Intimate Romantic Backyard Wedding

by Rebekah · Leave a Comment

Intimate Romantic Backyard Wedding

This intimate romantic backyard wedding was what dreams and romance songs are made of. Max & Annie’s day started out at the coziest little Airbnb, with some of the most beautiful and special details, including an antique mirror that was Annie’s grandmothers. From there, we moved to Max’s uncle & aunt’s stunning home in the country.

After the sweetest first look and portraits & private vows among the big old oak trees, it was time for the backyard ceremony. I always get a little emotional watching my couples become husband & wife, and this day was no different! The sweet stolen glances, the charge to the couple (which always serves as a reminder for myself in my own marriage), and the joy on their faces as they walked back up the aisle. Every moment is so incredibly precious. I’m truly blessed to be a part of days like this one!

Max & Annie’s reception started out as a perfect continuation of their intimate romantic backyard wedding.

However, it quickly turned into a Taylor Swift song as raindrops started to fall during their first dance. We had a little reprieve during the speeches, but then the rain came back with a ferociousness that practically took your breath away! But honestly? It felt like the perfect way to end Max & Annie’s wedding day.

Just a few weeks prior to their wedding, I met up with Max & Annie for their windy engagement session in the Columbia River Gorge. Above all, I want to create an experience for my couples that helps them feel relaxed & confident in front of my camera. It doesn’t matter if we’re battling intense wind like we did during their engagement session, or a surprise rain shower like we did at their wedding. While these weather systems do provide me with some challenges, they also provide me with an opportunity to go above & beyond in serving my couple! And that’s what I’m all about.

Mr & Mrs Clark, congratulations once again! I am so excited for you two as you start this new chapter of your journey. Your wedding day was sooo beautiful, and I’m just so thankful that I got to be part of it. Best of everything to you both!!

As we head into autumn, and with more cold & rainy As we head into autumn, and with more cold & rainy weather just around the corner, this is your friendly reminder to reach out to your favorite local photographer and schedule those family photos ASAP!! 🍂

Most of us are booked weeks (if not months) out, and it wrecks us to turn away clients who love our work and are dying to have photos taken by us, but maybe didn't plan things out far enough in advance and are now scrambling to have their yearly photos taken. 🤍

Reaching out to schedule your family session now will do three things:

1️⃣ You have more of a chance of good weather for your photos. It's obviously not a guarantee, but we all know the sunny autumn days are numbered!

2️⃣ You will have more options for dates. During the winter months, most sessions have to be scheduled on the weekends due to people's work schedules and when it gets dark outside. Obviously, if you have the flexibility for a weekday session, this isn't as much of a concern. But if a weekend is your only option, make sure to reach out ASAP!

3️⃣ You will have plenty of time to create & order your Christmas cards, or plenty of time to use the new photos to make Christmas gifts! (We all know that grandparents *LOVE* receiving photos of their favorite people as gifts!!)

And just in case anybody wondered...Christmas is 84 days away. 😱

(And NO I am 100% not ready for Christmas, but I just wanted to remind all of us that it *is* coming up! Honestly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it's October when it was July like 5 minutes ago.)

Make sure to share this post with your friends & family who need to be reminded to schedule their family photo session as well! 🫶🏻
My goal as your wedding photographer is to create My goal as your wedding photographer is to create images that are simultaneously timeless, classic, sophisticated, & emotive, *and* joyful, fun, & relaxed. ✨

There is this trend in the photography industry right now where you can have either a dark & moody editing style with more relaxed & “candid” photos, OR a lighter & more classic editing style with more posed images. 📸

But I’m here to tell you that if you hire me, you can have it all! 👏🏻

My posing process is to give you directions & prompts so that you always know what to do, but never feel like a stiff statue. This allows for those more classic shots, as well as the ones that might look candid but in reality, have been set up by me to elicit a specific response or shot. 😉

(E.g. when I tell a bridal party to look at each other and give me the biggest, most fake laugh they can muster, I don’t actually care about the fake laugh...I just know that fake laughing will turn into *real* laughter between friends and THAT is the shot I want!)

So, if you’re looking for photos that are both timeless & fun, then you’re in the right place. Follow that link in my bio to fill out my inquiry form & let’s chat! 🤍
Being able to capture so many different chapters o Being able to capture so many different chapters of Gavin & Brandi’s story has been SO special. ✨

From their engagement session at Mount Rainier, to their wedding at The Empress Estate in Woodland, Washington, to their honeymoon session on a beach in Kihei, Maui, (not to mention their couple’s session several years ago at Point No Point Lighthouse in Hansville, Washington) I have loved every moment I’ve had with these special clients-turned-friends. 🤍

I know it might not always be practical or doable to book me for a honeymoon session. But if it’s something you’re interested in, don’t hesitate to reach out & at least ask what it would look like! Who knows...I might already be planning a trip to your honeymoon location and have the availability for a short session while I’m there. (Like I was with Maui and Gavin & Brandi’s honeymoon session!) 🌺

Tell me...where is your dream honeymoon location? And if you’ve already gone on your honeymoon, where did you go? ✈️

Happy first day of fall! 🍁 Personally, I am ec Happy first day of fall! 🍁

Personally, I am ecstatic for this change in the seasons! I have always loved fall (even before it was popular to love it haha) because there’s just something about those crisp days and cool nights and the way the world comes alive with color. 🍂

Fall also means that my busy season is (almost) over, which is truly bittersweet. Bitter because it means I won’t be documenting multiple beautiful love stories every week, and sweet because it means that I can finally rest & start to recharge for next year! 🧡

Tell me…are you excited for this changing of the seasons, or are you holding onto every last drop of summer that you possibly can? 🌻

This wedding was the perfect way to round out what was a triple header (three weddings in three days) weekend for me. It was the craziest weekend of my entire career, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Celebrating with so many incredible people and documenting these new unions was a joy & such a privilege! 🤍
