Mr & Mrs Crowe // A Beautiful & Sunny Backyard Wedding
Sunlight filtered through the trees and freckled over the lawn and abundant flowerbeds. The entire place was abuzz with anticipation, as family + friends hurried around taking care of the last minute preparations. It was the perfect day for a backyard wedding at the Bride’s parents’ home!
In Tim & Grace’s engagement session blog post, I talked about my connection with Grace. She’s my sister-in-law’s younger sister, but I’ve basically adopted her as my own lil sis! Grace absolutely lives up to her name, and Tim makes it very obvious that he knows what a treasure he has. These two are a joy to be around, and being a part of their day in this way was an honor I did not take lightly.
A last minute change had Grace borrowing my own wedding veil, which I couldn’t have been happier about!! I would have been happy to let just about anyone borrow my veil, but having Grace wear it just hit me right in the feels. I definitely teared up as I pinned it on her head!
The whole day was a flurry of activity and a combination of being in photographer mode, feeling all the “big sister” feels, flirting with the hot DJ (calm down, he’s my husband), and kissing the checks of my nephews + niece. That’s another thing I love about photographing weddings for people I’m related to…it’s like a big family reunion! Grace and I share the title of “auntie” to three of the cutest kiddos ever, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t take a few extra photos of them throughout the day. (Also, please properly enjoy the photo of our adorable nephew grabbing a cupcake during the reception.)
We wrapped up the day with portraits at the river where Tim proposed. I preach the benefits of sunset portraits to my couples, and it makes my heart so happy when we’re able to take those extra 15-20 minutes to create some real magic! They always turn out to be my favorite portraits of the whole day.
Tim & Grace, wow you guys. Your backyard wedding was truly amazing, and now you’re married!!! Marriage is so incredibly wonderful (speaking from my 314 days of experience!) and I’m so excited to watch you grow together. I love you both so much…happy one week anniversary!!
