Mommy & Me // Newport, Oregon Beach Session
This past week, I photographed some of my favorite people on the beach in Newport, Oregon. My sweet sister-in-law and adorable niblings are visiting from Virginia, and as always, we had to fit in a photo session! I know I’m biased, but I have to say…I have some of the CUTEST niblings in the whole world!! (And I have two more nieces and one more nephew…with another on the way…that aren’t pictured here! Talk about a blessed auntie!)
One of the greatest joys of being a photographer is taking beautiful pictures of my own family. Just over a month ago, I got emotional taking photos of my grandparents. Those photos are priceless to me, but even more so because I was able to capture those moments.
I’ve photographed my brother and his family countless times over the years, and it’s so fun to look back over the sessions and watch the way their family (not to mention my photography!) has grown! But this beach photo session might just be some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken of this little family. (Although we obviously missed my brother!) I love that the photos capture the pure joy that my niblings get from being on the beach and playing in the sand. And how amazing & beautiful their mama is!
The following quote came to my mind as I was working on these images, and I think it perfectly describes what’s going on in them:
