Sam & Katie // Yellow Gold Farm Wedding
Music fulled the church as every eye turned toward the double doors opening to show the Bride and her father. But my eyes turned back to the Groom. They always seem to, no matter if I have a camera in my hand or not. Because this is the moment that he sees his almost wife walking toward him, and the moment that he just can’t contain his emotions. Even from a distance away, I could tell the exact moment that Sam saw Katie for the first time in that gorgeous cream dress. Tears filled his eyes and I suddenly felt my own getting damp. I turned back toward Katie and her father, and smiled at the confident + serene look on Katie’s face. She was about to marry the love of her life, and she was more than ready.
I don’t think there was a dry eye in that old church as Sam + Katie pledge their lives to each other. It was obvious that these two are meant to be together, from the way that they could so easily make each other laugh, to the adoring looks that they bestowed on each other throughout the day. This was the stuff that fairytales are made of.
From the moment I met Sam + Katie, I knew that they were my kind of people…lovers of the outdoors + laidback + not afraid to get a little dirt on the dress, and just as warm and kindhearted as they come. Their whole family proved to be this way as well. I love getting to know my couples even better through their families, and by the way that Sam + Katie’s families interacted with them, it was obvious that these two young people are adored. The look on Katie’s mom’s face when she saw her daughter all dressed + ready to marry her soulmate was one of the sweetest things I have ever witnessed, and the father-daughter dance had me wiping tears away along with Katie and her mom.
Sam + Katie, couples like you make my heart so full, and I am so grateful that I was able to play such a role in your day. I pray that God blesses your marriage, and that these coming years are full of more adventures + laughter than you ever thought possible.
