Mr & Mrs Johnston // Intimate Wedding at Sparks Lake

Last weekend, I had the privilege of photographing this intimate wedding at Sparks Lake Meadows. The decorations were elegant and simple, which allowed the focus to be on Houston & Hannah and the covenant they were entering into.

These two first met back in October of 2020 and started dating about a week later. Within a few short months, they had both come to the realization that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other.

Houston proposed during a visit to Crater Lake with some friends. Hannah shared that, “once we were at the top of the hike taking in the views, Houston got down on one knee. He had planned out a few things to say, but in the moment was nervous so he made it simple but sweet, ‘Hannah Nicole Powell, will you marry me?’ I obviously said yes!”

This wedding was particularly special to me, as I’ve known Hannah since we were little girls! Our families have been great friends for many, many years. So, it was really incredible to be part of this day, and to see the whole family again. If you know them, you know what truly amazing people they are!

To the new Mr & Mrs Johnston, I cannot tell you how honored I was to be part of your day. You are some of the most kind and genuine people I’ve ever met, and it was a joy working with you!

If I can give you one piece of marriage advice, it would be this: keep seeking the Lord in everything you do, both individually and as a couple. Make Him the center of your marriage, and you will do BIG things for His Kingdom.
